Southern Exposure: More Tales of Green-Wood
Visit with tour guide Ruth Edebohls the less-seen southern edge of the cemetery, whose monuments and mausoleums have many fascinating stories to tell. Hear the stories of the Park Slope Plane Crash of 1960, “Truth Seeker” D. M. Bennett, a Russian prince, gangsters Joey Gallo and Albert Anastasia, Fred Ebb, an early Richard Upjohn mausoleum, several artists, the accomplished Cutting family, a 19th century African-American entrepreneurial couple, a Titanic victim, and more. A tourist attraction 150 years ago, Green-Wood still has the power to draw us and keep us coming back with its beauty, grandeur and history. Wear good walking shoes. Saturday, November 12, 1:00 pm. Meet at the Gothic Arch inside the entrance at 25th Street and Fifth Avenue. Take the R train to 25th Street and walk up one block to the cemetery. Fees: $15.00, $10.00 for Historic Fund members.

Saturday Family Programs: Puppets Got Talent!
Alphabet Arts presents a colorful array of hopeful puppets that strut their stuff in a talent competition like no other! Singers, dancers, contortionists, comedians and more! Brooklyn Flea + Smorgasburg
On Saturday, the Flea is held at 176 Lafayette Ave. (between Clermont + Vanderbilt Avenues) in Fort Greene. On Sunday, the Flea will be at 27 North 6th Street (between Kent Avenue + East River). And on Saturday we also hold Smorgasburg, at the same Williamsburg location. Come join us – and all our food, antique, vintage and art vendors – this weekend. Both markets run from 10am to 5pm.
