Wash Ave Rocks! Street Fair
Prospect Heights will come alive with local art, flavors, live music, and fashion at the second annual Wash Ave Rocks! Street Fair on Saturday, August 20. Brooklyn-based food bloggers will crown the best appetizer in Prospect Heights at 1pm; a fashion show featuring Brooklyn-based models and designers will take the stage at 4:30pm; and cultural organizations including Brooklyn Museum, Music Brings Life, and Brooklyn Children’s Museum will lead family-friendly activities throughout the day. Rain or shine! Events run from 12 to 4:30, Washington Avenue between St. Marks Ave. and Prospect Place.

Kids Fishing Clinics at Prospect Park
This exciting, free program offers kids quality fishing instruction and an introduction to aquatic ecology. Children 15 and under, accompanied by parent/guardian, will learn about recreational fishing, fishing safety, and fish-friendly techniques, all while casting their lines on a spectacular summer day in the Park! Scavenger Hunt at Brooklyn Historical Society
On Sunday afternoon, the Brooklyn Historical Society will host a neighborhood scavenger hunt. Participants can do the hunt any time between noon and 5 p.m. and everyone who finishes will be eligible for raffle prizes.

The First Annual Bed-Stuy Pride
The Audre Lorde Project’s Safe OUTside the System Collective (SOS) hosts the 1st Annual Bed-Stuy Pride, a celebration of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two Spirit, Trans and Gender Non-Conforming people of color in the Bed-Stuy community! The event will feature performances, artists, vendors, activities for youth and adults, and more. Sunday, Tompkins Park, 12-6pm, free.

Brooklyn Flea + Smorgasburg
On Saturday, the Flea is held at 176 Lafayette Ave. (between Clermont + Vanderbilt Avenues) in Fort Greene. On Sunday, the Flea will be at 27 North 6th Street (between Kent Avenue + East River). And on Saturday we also hold Smorgasburg, at the same Williamsburg location. Come join us – and all our food, antique, vintage and art vendors – this weekend. Flea: 10am to 5pm, Smorg: 9am to 5pm.
