Reporter Roundtable: Brooklyn Bloggers
Tonight, a new episode of BRIC’s Reporter Roundtable airs on Brooklyn Community Access Television. The 30-minute weekly public affairs talk show tonight features the Brooklyn Paper’s Gersh Kuntzman speaking with Gowanus Lounge, OTBKB and Brownstoner about hyperlocal coverage, the impact readers are having on how news gets reported and the impact on mainstream media of blogs. October Blogade Roadshow
This Sunday, the Brooklyn Blogade stops in Bay Ridge. Rob from the Luna Park Gazette hosts. This month’s event will be held at Omonia Cafe. Please RSVP as soon as possible. Mary Whalen Volunteer Weekend
This Saturday and Sunday, PortSide New York wants volunteers to help out in the Mary A. Whalen. Bring gloves. Security requires names to be on a list for access. Fort Greene 70’s Fundraiser
This Saturday, celebrate the 70’s with music, dancing, a costume contest, dinner, prizes, and family fun. Admission includes hot dog, chips, and a beverage, plus a raffle ticket for movie tickets to BAM Rose Cinemas. There will be a beer and wine cash bar. Music from DJ Javier Agredo and a special performance of The Poetic Notion Chorus & The Electric Goddess Club Orquestra, directed by Rob Darnell and Lisa Roma. Proceeds benefit the building restoration fund of a historic architectural and cultural Fort Greene Landmark. Saturday, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. $15 general admission; $10 adults in 70’s costume; $3 kids under 12; free kids in 70’s costume. It’s Our Park Day at Cadman Plaza Park
This Saturday, the Brooklyn Heights Association presents “It’s Our Park Day.” Volunteers will rake leaves and plant bulbs in the Park and receive a free lunch. There will also be a bake sale to raise funds for P.S. 8’s fifth grade trip to Washington, D.C. The event will conclude with a free outdoor concert by the Deedle Deedle Dees. Inaugural Concert at The Victorian Place Cultural Center

Windsor Terrace Library Toy Sale
On Saturday, The Friends Group of the Windsor Terrace Library holds a sale of gently used toys. Money raised will benefit the Windsor Terrace Library. Money from last year’s toy sale was used to buy books for the branch. Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. E. 5th Street and Ft. Hamilton Parkway.
Red Hook Harvest Festival
Celebrate the harvest and “It’s My Park Day” by visiting the Red Hook Community Farm for its Third Annual Harvest Festival. There will be pumpkin carving, face painting, and cooking demos as well as food from a wide range of local restaurants. Saturday, 10am to 5pm. Call 718-855-5531 for more info.
