Zombiefest
indieScreen, The Cove, and hostess Allison Love (yours truly) announce Zombiefest — a Zombie Crawl, Film Screening, and after-party charity event. People will be asked to dress as zombies and everyone will crawl or walk down Metropolitan Ave., toward indieScreen. After the crowd of zombies arrives at indieScreen, participants will have the option to screen the popular 1968 zombie film, Night of the Living Dead in zombie attire. A portion of the ticket price will go toward the Food Bank For New York City. After the film, participants can go to The Cove where the charity event will continue! There will be beer specials and a portion of the proceeds made will also benefit the Food Bank For New York City. Saturday, October 30. 4 p.m. – Zombie Crawl. 6 p.m. – “Night of the Living Dead”. 8 p.m. – after-party. Donations welcome. $12 for the film. Meeting place for Zombie Crawl at the Jaime Campiz Playground on Marcy Avenue and Metropolitan Avenue. Film playing at 285 Kent Avenue. After-party at 106 N 6th Street.
11th Annual Halloween Festival
Hundreds of children will be treated to hay rides, games, sack races, face painting, stilt-walkers, entertainers and free pumpkins to decorate and it’s all FREE. Plus there will be a costume parade and spooky cemetery with such luminaries in residence as Will B. Back and R U Next. The Festival kicks off with a wild costume contest for dogs and their owners, The Great PUPkin, sponsored by Fort Greene PUPS, the local dog-owners organization. All are welcome! Saturday, October 30. 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. Free. The Great Lawn of Brooklyn’s Fort Greene Park.
The Brooklyn Flea
The Brooklyn Flea is located in the Bishop Loughlin schoolyard in Fort Greene on Saturdays and at Skylight One Hanson (the former Williamsburgh Savings Bank across from the Atlantic Center mall) on Sundays. The Flea features over a 100 vendors offering a great mix of vintage, antiques, jewelry, and food. Saturday & Sunday, October 30 & 31. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Free. 176 Lafayette Avenue and One Hanson Place.

The Halloween Parade
The Brooklyn Heights Playground Committee Presents “The Halloween Parade”. Bring your little ghouls and goblins to join in the fun and show off their best costumes! You can even enjoy some baked goods! The profits from the sale will benefit The Brooklyn Heights Playground Committee. Saturday, October 30. 10 a.m. Free. Pierrepont Playground.
Prospect Farm Harvest Fest + Soup Cook-Off
Come for a fun day of learning about the Prospect Farm’s work, member info, enjoy games, music, food, the soup cook-off, raffle, and much more. New York Like a Native: Fort Greene & Clinton Hill
Join Norman Oder on an energetic introduction to the adjoining neighborhoods of row houses and mansions of Fort Greene and Clinton Hill, including the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Fort Greene Park, and the Pratt Institute. Also, everyone will pass a famous Halloween exhibit on Clinton Avenue. (And pass the Flea.) Saturday, October 30. 1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. $15. Meeting outside the Williamsburgh Savings Bank tower, Hanson Place at Flatbush Avenue.
All Hallow’s Eve Bash
The Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy Junior Committee invites you to the first “All Hallow’s Eve Bash”. Come for the music, dancing, cocktails but make sure you’re decked out in your Halloween finest. This fundraiser will benefit free public programing at the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy. Saturday, October 30. 8 p.m. – 1 a.m. Donations vary. 360 Furman Street, Entrance through retail of on waterside of building.
Boo at the Zoo
Have a frightfully good time at this extreme Halloween party! Watch the animals devour their Halloween treats, tour the spooky barn, and make some festive crafts as you experience the thrills and chills of the Zoo. Wear your Halloween costume to the zoo; many zoo staff members will also be in costume! Saturday & Sunday, October 30 & 31. 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Prospect Park Zoo.
3rd Ward’s Halloween Party: Within the Land of Ash
Want to enjoy a weekend of masquerade, gender-bending, endless music, clamor, beauty and
revelation? Go to this party. You’ll find everything just short of insanity. This is a 21 and older event. Saturday, October 30. 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. $15 before 9:45 p.m. $25 after then. Starts at 260 Meserole Street and continues all throughout the nabe.
3rd ward is always WAY too packed in recent years. fire hazard packed. can’t dance, can’t use a restroom, can’t get a drink. they should not advertise.
