Scandals, Scalawags & Murder Most Foul
See the sites of Green-Wood Cemetery’s most nefarious residents with tour guide Ruth Edebohls. Green-Wood is the final resting place of many famous and heroic people, but some of its deceased denizens have a more blemished reputation. Murderers and the murdered, a sullied adulteress, a famous courtesan, gangsters, con men and schemers lie next to those of a more virtuous disposition. Enjoy the visual delights of Green-Wood, its trees and ponds and its sculpture and buildings by the leading artists and architects of their time, surrounded by the beauty of autumn. Walk may be hilly and strenuous wear good walking shoes. Saturday, October 16. 1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. $15. Meet at the Gothic Arch inside the entrance at 25th Street and Fifth Avenue, Green-Wood Cemetery.
The Brooklyn Flea
The Brooklyn Flea is located in the Bishop Loughlin schoolyard in Fort Greene on Saturdays and at Skylight One Hanson (the former Williamsburgh Savings Bank across from the Atlantic Center mall) on Sundays. The Flea features over a 100 vendors offering a great mix of vintage, antiques, jewelry, and food. Saturday & Sunday, October 16 & 17. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Free. 176 Lafayette Avenue and One Hanson Place.

Ice Cream Social
This event is meant to bring together people concerned about the prison system and people concerned about their local food systems to learn. Also, this is to learn about MILK NOT JAILS, a new campaign working to change the urban-rural relationship in New York State. Enjoy free ice cream and entertainment. Nights of Horror
New York City’s newest amusement park will host Nights of Horror at Luna Park, a heart-stopping Halloween experience developed by Timothy Haskell, creator and director of the acclaimed Nightmare: New York’s Most Horrifying Haunted House. Nights of Horror features a terrifying haunted maze and creepy characters lurking throughout an eerily re-themed Luna Park. Visitors will also have unlimited access to 12 of the park’s family and thrill rides, as well as a full lineup of entertainment, games and food. Friday, Saturday, & Sunday, starting October 15 (on the weekends until the 31st). 5 p.m. – 12 a.m. (Fridays & Saturdays). 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. (Sundays). $25 in advance. $30 at the gate. 1000 Surf Avenue, Luna Park.
Open House Weekend

The String Orchestra of Brooklyn Performance

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk
Come and join on in at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. Survivors of any cancer are welcome at our Patient & Survivor tent (T-shirts, massage and lots of love), the event is child, wheel-chair, banner and music-friendly, and it’s a great way to come out and support cancer patients, survivors and their families. Funds raised go to the Brooklyn office of the American Cancer Society to support our cancer patient support programs. Sunday, October 17. Registration at 10 a.m. Walk at 11 a.m. Free. 9th Street Bandshell, Prospect Park.
