RE/Mixed Media Festival 2010
In partnership with Galapagos Art Space, LOFI (League of Independents) will be hosting a festival that will celebrate remix/mashup artists of multiple disciplines and will feature curated film & video remixes, a remixed fashion show, a silent art auction of remixed visual art presented by Jan Larsen Art, DJs and live sound art, live video remixing, an Artists Only panel discussion, sponsor tables, a roots room illustrating remix throughout the history of art, and live musical performances. Dance to Nikos Kids
Nikolai Moderbacher of Nikos Kids will be playing at the Tea Lounge this Friday. Nikos Kids play around town from time to time but if you havn’t heard them, then this is a perfect opportunity to bring your kids and enjoy some tea and tunes. The Brooklyn Flea

The Flea is located not only at the former bank at One Hanson, but also at the Fort Greene market. On Saturdays, the market will be located at the Fort Greene location and on Sundays you can find the market at One Hanson which is located at the clocktower Art Deco building at Flatbush Ave., across from the Target mall. The Flea features 100 vendors and a great mix of vintage, antiques, jewelry, and food. The Cort Club Annual Memorial Day Block Party

Annual State of Coney Island Address
Dick Zigun, the Officially Unelected Mayor of Coney Island, will give his annual overview of the current state of affairs in America’s Playground. Zigun is expected to highlight the launch of the New Luna Park, the excitement of the long-anticipated “rebirth” of the amusement area, and the remaining questions about the future of the important historic structures that remain intact in Coney Island’s historic district. Sunday, May 30. 4:30 p.m. $5. 1208 Surf Avenue, Coney Island Museum.

Green-Wood’s 12th Annual Memorial Day Concert
12th annual concert will feature the Symphonic Band of the award-winning InterSchools Orchestra (founded in NYC in 1972). Under the direction of Brian Worsdale and with special guest The Brooklyn Youth Chorus, the concert will include compositions by Green-Wood Cemetery’s permanent residents Leonard Bernstein, Fred Ebb, Louis Moreau Gottschalk and more.
