Can’t get enough of Cary Grant’s beautiful mug? BAM is screening a selection of Grant’s films until August 20th. On Monday, they are showing Big Brown Eyes. Tickets can be purchased via BAM’s website. Monday, August 17. Two screenings at 6:50 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. 30 Lafayette Avenue, BAM Rose Cinemas.

39th NYC Council District Debate
Transportation Alternatives—your advocate for NYC cyclists, pedestrians, and transit riders—asks the candidates where they stand on critical transportation and public health issues. Incumbent Bill de Blasio is running for Public Advocate. Challengers in the race are: Brad Lander, Josh Skaller, Bob Zuckerman, Gary Reilly, John Heyer, David Pechefsky, Joseph Nardiello, and George Smith. Mugison to Play in All Five Burroughs
Icelandic rocker, Mugison, will be playing at all five burroughs in one day with his final gig in Brooklyn. Mugison will be playing the five shows to raise awareness for Amnesty International. Tuesday, August 18. 11 p.m. Free. 709 Lorimer St. at Richardson Street, Pete’s Candy Store.

Manhattan Beach Community Group Meeting
This event will present people with the opportunity to voice their opinions about the termination of the B train express service. Refreshments will be served and all are welcome to attend. Wednesday, August 19. 8 p.m. Kingsborough Community College, Faculty Dining Room.

Enjoy a meal prepared by local teens in collaboration with chefs and food professionals. This event is supported by Added Value and Partnership for Parks. Teens will be presenting how they have grown as individuals while preparing food for others and creating dialogue with guests about sustainability, growing and cooking your own food, and the mission of Added Value.
