  1. Maybe some people never bought into the overpriced artisan gimicky crap made popular by the bubble and the yuppification of Booklyn, of which Blue Marble is definitely an example of…Mast Bros Choc, McClures Pickles, Bklyn Soda works, Peoples Pops on and on and on..you know, most of the foodstuffs featured at the flea? Anyway, to some, myself included, it’s just really played out. Maybe the closure of this blue marble location is an inkling of people finally coming back to their senses a little. That’s all I meant by it.

  2. Also, Blue Marble as a business is still doing great–they’re just closing that one location and will probably open a new one somewhere else soon.

  3. Hear, hear! randolph. At least Blue Marble took a chance and built a business. Something rob never will. And BOD- I don’t get you either. What makes a nice business closing, a win?

  4. Thank you, randolph, well said.

It’s not witty or droll to celebrate someone else’s misery. Dancing on someone’s grave doesn’t make you Barishnikov, it makes you look small and petty.

  5. “Also, how can you do a meatopia / williamsburg article and not once mention Fette Sau? Is that place considered passe now?”

Seriously. Fette Sau kills Fatty Cue

  6. quote

“i look at it as a win.

    *rob*”

do you ever stop to think that someone worked really hard to make that store a success, and that now all the employees of said store are out of jobs?

rob, if you had the intelligence and motivation to start your own business or have accomplished anything in your pathetic life, you would understand that this is in no way “a win”. you really are a sad human being.
