Story about the slow wait for liquor licenses in the Times, with a lot of Williamsburg restaurants quoted. They left out El Almacen, which just got its license. I thought they would go under before they got it, it took forever. And when they stopped allowing people to BYOB, the place was virtually empty every night for months.

Well to recap yesterday’s Nathan’s discussion-a 20 story hotel is slated for that corner. Arguably the best known corner of Coney Island, a huge moneymaker for the area, yet the city zones it to put up a hotel. Yes- now there’s really good planning- NOT.
