Thank you Putnam Denizen. My 12-year-old daughter and I live in southwestern Bed-Stuy, after many years in Clinton Hill, just a few blocks from the shooting. My daughter travels by herself on the subway to and from middle school and other activities in Manhattan and Brooklyn and for one reason or another, she has been on the corner of Vanderbilt and Fulton at 4:30 p.m. more than once–it’s just a block from the Clinton Washington C train station.
Very scary stuff.
