“I ordered a seared Foie Gras Special ($11) resting on puff-pastry hearts cloaked in poached pear and a tooth-aching sauce. With a mere dab of sauce and no pear, the three large hunks of foie gras, though underseasoned, were awesome (and cheap) — one of New York’s best values in engorged duck liver.” [The L Magazine]

After the jump: The NY Press hits Williamsburg’s Moto; Chowhounders chat about the best places to buy fresh pasta in Brooklyn.

“Green olives dribbled in pomegranate molasses ($4) are both tart and sweet, topped with crumbled walnuts. The lemon-infused whole artichoke ($7) with olive oil is steamed to perfection and shaves onto the tongue like butter. But we are a tad disappointed with the duet of Manchego cheese and quince ($5), as the very slim slice of preserve hardly merits its co-appearance on the menu.” [NY Press]

Where to Buy Fresh Pasta in Brooklyn
Some Chowhounders came up with a helpful list of fresh pasta spots, including Caputo’s Deli in Carroll Gardens; Pastosa Ravioli, which has two Brooklyn locations on New Utrecht Avenue and Avenue N; Savino’s Quality Pasta on Conselyea between Leonard and Manhattan; and Dairy Maid on Avenue U. Any others they’re forgetting?
