Rally Against Eminent Domain Abuses
Today, Wednesday, June 27, gather for the “Rally to Fight Eminent Domain Abuses.” Protesting the Atlantic Yards development and other less visible instances of abuse, the rally takes place on the steps of City Hall at 1 p.m. The event marks the second anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Kelo v. New London, which allowed the City of New London to use eminent domain to take homes for a private development.
What Future for Brooklyn
Park Slope Neighbors, along with Central Brooklyn Independent Democrats, Develop Don’t Destroy Brooklyn and the Green Party of Brooklyn, are sponsoring a discussion tonight at St. Cyril’s Church in Boerum Hill about the impact of Mayor Bloomberg’s 2030 Plan on Brooklyn.
