sorry, I take back my last post. those are the iron guards on the cable that prevent would-be jumpers from walking up the cables. my mistake. lovely picture.
something looks funny to me. why is there an identical shadow on the north and south cables, near the center height of each cable? looks almost like a building in the distance hidden by fog, but the fact that both sides are identical makes me think it was photoshopped, and not particularly artistically, sorry.
Thank you. It was actually taken five minutes before this one:

This was taken in the blizzard on 2/12/2006.
That is a truly remarkable photo!
‘try that tom’w, brg. Should be some nice snow.’
I’d like to, but my friend is not happy right now and probably won’t come out.
I can’t stop looking at this photo….it’s stunning.
Beautiful shot! A great photograph.

Unfortunately (or not) there are so many tourists out that you rarely have the bridge to yourself anymore, even in the worst of weather. Ahh, I remember…
Plenty of people on the bridge this morning when I walked over around 9:30AM, and it was under 20degF
A ‘friend’ of mine wanted to go on the Brooklyn Bridge……
on a day when it’s snowy or cold or late and there are not many people on the bridge……face the city….and lean on the railing.
I love that photo eyepen. It’s timeless.
