  1. The Brooklyn Army Terminal consists of large complex of piers, docks, warehouses, cranes, railroad sidings and cargo loading equipment. The terminal was responsible for shipment of army equipment and personnel overseas. The building is currently operated by the City of New York as a center for dozens of light manufacturing, warehousing and back-office businesses.

Additionally, the Army Terminal is currently home for one of Brooklyn’s New York Water Taxi connections to Lower Manhattan. The ferry service at this location became very important during the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 attacks, and the 2005 New York City transit strike.
