Bxgrl, dont take my comment out of context. Dont generalize it either. We are talking about a specific situation. You sound like someone who loves to cry prejudice, even when its not appropriate.
“In other words, the developers got something out of it.”
In other words my taxes are paying for these folks $400 subsidized apartments. I don’t feel the need to provide them with a pool as well. Thanks.
yeah sorry, if you live in the affordable subsidized rental section of luxury condos you live in a totally separate building and do not pay common charges that go towards the upkeep of those amenities.
what a totally stupid article.
“At both sites, the developers were allowed to build an extra 1.25 square feet of luxury condos for every square foot of affordable housing they created, and also received tax abatements. ”
In other words, the developers got something out of it. Money, to be exact.
How long do the spoiled brats in the luxury condos have a tax abatement for? Just curious. What a scam!
My fault. He didn’t miss it; I missed that he had posted it. Ridiculous article.
“We’re not that rich.” What a pathetic whiny spoiled little brat.
Looks like Brownstoner missed one, and it’s a doozey.

I guess only the rich have a right to enjoy life, then, Neil? You’re talking about working families who do pay rent, and taxes. What a ridiculous attitude.
less than 400$ rent for Northside williamsburg, and they think they should have access to a pool? the unit owners pay more in common charges than these people pay in rent. maybe they should have their own doorman too. Pressing their nose against the glass while watching the rich people enjoy the spoils of life. Give me a break.
