  1. Hey! That’s my bike! Literally, that’s mine. This must be an old picture, because it hasn’t looked that clean in months.

    I read ~jillysp~’s caption on the flickr and disagree with her gentrification ennui rap. I’ve lived on 19th st for almost 5 years, and yes the neighborhood’s changed but not in any sort of a bad way. Small business moving down fifth avenue has improved the economic stability of the area, but without changing the closeness of the neighborhood–I still know who my neighbors are, and I still hear Spanish music through my window on Saturday afternoon.

    Though, the Non-Stop Discount Mart did close this weekend. RIP.

  2. re: Compare and Contrast. I wonder if Cuyler Gore–bounded by Fulton, Greene and Carlton–is named for “John Y. Cuyler, a descended of original Flatbush Dutchmen who also acted as Prospect Park’s first superintendent and chief engineer.”
