Trader Joe’s long-awaited second Brooklyn outpost is now open in City Point in Downtown Brooklyn. It opened at 445 Gold Street today, Friday, June 23.
The grocery store announced the opening date Wednesday on its website, and an employee at the Court Street store tweeted about it, as DNAinfo was the first to report.

The only other Trader Joe’s in Brooklyn is located on Court Street near Atlantic Avenue in Cobble Hill.
Plans for the store’s second Brooklyn location were made public in 2015 when Trader Joe’s signed a lease at City Point, as we reported at the time. The store sits next to but is not part of City Point’s DeKalb Market Hall, a 26,000-square-foot space with food stalls from eateries in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens that opened last week.

City Point is a massive mixed-use development that when fully complete will house about 1.8 million square feet of office, retail and residential space.
DeKalb Market Hall was bustling with people Thursday night. The combination of Trader Joe’s and DeKalb Market Hall in adjacent spaces will turn this corner of Downtown Brooklyn into something of a foodie destination.
