Total Wine Bar in the North Slope closed back in the fall, and if you still miss it, today’s your lucky day. At this week’s CB6 meeting, the new owner of the spot at 74 5th Avenue asked for a liquor license to open up another wine bar. According to him, there will be around 18 different kinds of wine—although they will also serve liquor—and small plates of food. Sounds good to us. CB6 recommended approval for the license, but there’s no word on the planned opening date.

As long as the demand is there…bring them on! 5th avenue is coming to its own.
2 wine bars in 6 blocks is quite a lot. 6 blocks on 5th Avenue is about a 3 minute walk.
I wish them well, though. Total Wine Bar was a great place…hope this is even better.
11217. That’s 6 blocks away. I think that’s a more than reasonable buffer.
