  1. deadnancy, what? NYC has a housing shortage. if you don’t those firms’ designs then promote other firms. your nimby attitude is just to keep the existing housing levels at a ridiculously low level to increase the value of your property. blah blah blah. but who the hell are you ranting to?

  2. Can’t believe the NYU-Polytechnic story isn’t getting bigger play here. Long term this is going to be a huge chunk of development for downtown and will have a bigger effect on what happens to surrounding neighborhoods, Fulton Mall, etc. than the one-off condos that are springing up.

  3. Greenpoint’s mighty stench will be to the soulless Scaranos and Fischers trying to infiltrate our neighborhood what General Winter and Colonel Mud were to the Nazis during their invasion of the Soviet Union in World War II…

  4. Surely I’m not the first person to suggest this, based on rockin’ shots like the one above: Howzabout a Brownstoner photo calendar? Part of proceeds could go to someplace like Habitat for Humanity, or another charity that tends to the needs of victims of the real-estate steamroller we obsess over here. There are just so many fantastic shots, and over time they add up to an awesome and quite unique body of work. (And a good, if seldom remarked-upon, rationale for why we’re all so crazy for Brooklyn…)
