  1. Rob should visit the Bay Area if he wants to see barf. It’s like one big Park Slope except everyone is in tech and “the arts” means Burning Man.

Oh wait, Rob loves Park Slope.

  2. I believe Ms. Wilson was being ironic. Her article was largely critical, and certainly made me want to avoid the store at all costs. It portrayed Barney’s as representing everything that many people move out of Manhattan to escape.

  3. I knew you would be horrified, Rob. That’s why I posted it.

OK, San Jose No. 1. Were No. 2 and 3 also in the Bay Area? It’s all kind of one large metropolitan area, much like LA or NYC.

  4. no in San Fran. minimum wage is WAY higher.

    and this.
“Brooklyn’s bourgeoisie may safely let its beard mat into felt and start shouting at passing cars: It knows where to shop to look sexily impoverished.” — Cintra Wilson on Barney’s in Brooklyn, NYT.

    BARF x INFINITY.

  5. That’s not a mosque (or are you joking).
It’s a Church (probably Orthodox – is it the one at MacCarren Park?)
The crosses on the domes are a clue!
