The first time my husband met my Brooklyn cousins, he thought they were foreign because he couldn’t understand a word they said. And he’s from Long Island! But sadly, I think the true Brooklyn accent and dialect are dying out.
Wonder why the brokers haven’t reported to Streeteasy that 17 Garden Place is in contract. I guess a little birdie told the NYT.
bxgrl, I’d just kick MM. Why bother with her tires?
17 Garden Place went into contract pretty fast, so it looks like the widget will be in the 12-15% under territory again.
I’m kicking MM’s tires to do a column on murals. We have some wonderful ones in CHN and Bed-Stuy.
I absolutely love the mural in that pic. If you all haven’t seen it in person, you really should.
No link for the NY Times annual house tour listing?
Here it is:

For the first time in many years they’ve listed ALL the Brooklyn tours in the PRINT edition as well as on line.
Brava Shelly Freierman!
In the AY link, the letter linked to the word “lie” gives insight (albeit one-sided) into the Goldstein / FCR negotiations.
The Oder article was SO meandering and wordy. His points could have been made in one third of the space.
AY Report is an makes good points about the people making the decisions and the process.
