Those fresh produce carts are a waste of time. Everyone knows that Crown Heights residents eat only dispy doodles, little debbie treats, and uncle jessie’s peanuts!

Dave, maybe you and some neighbors could contact the program and get them to assign someone there. A lot of people interested could possibly convince them that the vendor could make a living.
Saw the brown paper on the window last weekend when I passed through the area, glad they are open now. Will definitely have to check it out soon.
MM, I wish there was one in Fulton Park where I come out of the subway. Anyone know if there’s one near there?? Maybe on Malcolm X???
BTW, I ate at Saraghina last night. The pizza was fantastic and the gigantic cheese platter was incredible.
The new fruit and veggie carts in neighborhoods like mine are great. The vendor on Fulton and New York Ave, across from Restoration has a good selection, fairly priced, and I’ve been buying from him often enough to be recognized, and he knows what I usually buy. I like the personal touch, I’m glad to be helping him earn a living, and I get good produce. My local Foodtown has good produce, as well, but lately I’ve been buying fruit from the outdoor vendor. Foodtown is not going bust because I stopped buying fruit from them.
First quality produce has always been a problem here, although it is light years better than when I first moved here in the 80’s. I don’t know if the local produce stores didn’t try to buy the best, or couldn’t, but our choices used to look like what’s left after the best was picked over, and I used to buy most produce in Manhattan, somewhere near work. I’m very happy to be able to have access to the same goods here in Bed Stuy/Crown Heights.

The fact that this new 51 story building is only 2′ taller than the 37 story Williamsburg S.B. building is stark evidence of the pathetic and squalid nature of most new construction.

My point was that these things are dangerous enough without MEETING THE DRIVER IN A BAR!!!!!
