Ah, yes, I was there at the Brooklyn Bridge party, with semi-V.I.P. tickets from a kindly party-planner neighbor that allowed me to sit under the bridge and enjoy refreshments while the fireworks went off. I got fireworks ashes in my hair.
And remember when a helicopter could mean a celebration, not some kind of disaster?
