Re: Are Park Slope Gyms the best gay hookup spots in town? First of all, thanks for posting the link as I was, until now, unfamiliar with that rather amusing blog.
I find it pathectic that a “straight woman” reads some random “missed connections” posts and suddenly thinks she has stumbled upon some amazing discovery. Um, gay hookups at a gym, regardless of neighborhood, are nothing new. Even the ancient Romans knew that if a bunch of guys congregate in one place to exercise some of them will end up having sex. Why do some people who live in Park Slope always jump to the conclusion that if they observe something they have never observed before it:
A) MUST be unique to Park Slope
B) is some earth-shattering discovery.
Thanks to Grindr, the bread aisle at Whole Foods is just as likely to be a “hot gay cruising spot” as some gym in Park Slope. Get over yourself sweetheart…gays are everywhere and most of them are probably cruising AND it has nothing to do with Park Slope.
Ah, the magnificent Magnolia. A sign of spring at last. Gorgeous photo!
