Today Tea Lounge opened new branch in Cobble Hill, near the corner of Court and Kane Streets. We hear they’ve got great iced coffee, and if this spot ends up attracting the same kind of crowd as its predecessors, it’ll be a great place to stare longingly at a hunk across the room — and then declare your love for him on Craigslist. Is it just us, or do the old Tea Lounges generate an inordinate amount of missed connections? Our local coffee shop, the Fall Cafe, doesn’t get nearly as much action.

  1. The staff at tea lounge has been continuously rude and snoody to my husband and I. To be more specific you blond manager is an asshole and bad for your business. What a way to set someones day. It’s too bad because if this attitude continues I will not come back and unfortunately for you I have a big mouth and so most of my friends wont either and trust me there are lots of them.

  2. DON’T go there on 11am on a Tuesday. That’s the Mommy-n-me sing along. A festival of drooling little things with their mothers singing “Twinkle twinkle little star”. Seriouly, the place was overrun, couldn’t even get to the bathroom with all the strollers in the way.

Other than that, I love this place. Hasn’t acquired critical mass on the snooty level yet. Better than Naidres a hundred million ways. I hate Naidres. Bitchy staff, no room to sit, undercooked oatmeal.

  3. “true that their are….” I meant there. Why don’t I ever click preview? Why can’t i just let the typo stand? Because I’m afraid you’ll all think less of me, that’s why.

  4. The Park Slope Tea Lounge is fucking crazy. It’s true that their are tons of strollers in there, but I’ve never been able to figure out why, since the miserable, miserable people behind the counter visibly despise them. Best iced mocha I’ve ever had, though. Delicious. Like chocolate milk for adults.

  5. I stopped into the new location this morning to pick up a coffee and some loose tea. The barista working at the time was very nice and helpful and didn’t have any hint of the attitude that has been alluded to above.

I was very pleased with my visit and for once the milk in my cappuccino was not scolded and overdone.

I will def. be heading back.

  7. Isn’t the Park Slope Tea Lounge a major stoller-ati (aka stroller mafia) destination? It is written up in City Baby and name-dropped in the New York magazine Breeding column. If so, hurrah. Can always use another public space to let my toddler wreck havoc while I hide behind an oversized coffee mug. With winter coming, all us stroller mobsters will be happy to turn gentrying cafes into indoor playgrounds.

  8. That location is cursed. How many restaurant changes in past 5 years?
With price of rents…how could ever make any money as tea lounge? Unfortunate as that is…because it has become quite boring with all the bars and restaurants, etc.
