Taro Sushi Moving to Flatbush Avenue

We’ve known for a few months now that a sushi restaurant was going to replace Dunkin Donuts on Flatbush and St. Marks, we just didn’t know the identity of said sushi restaurant. Now we do: A tipster sent in word that Taro Sushi, which already has one location at 446 Dean Street, is moving in. The tipster says they are aiming for a September or October opening date and may keep the Park Slope location for “something else.”

the people who ran helios own the building. They are doing fine 😉
Excellent! The Dunkin Donuts was such an eyesore. I miss Helio’s, it was a sweet little joint. Good diner food with some nice Greek/middle eastern offerings. Not sure why it didn’t click.
It is great news. Taro is considered by many to be the best sushi in Brooklyn. A nice, new space is going to do them well.
Don’t forget that directly opposite this place (and next to the Cubana Cafe) is supposedly going to be a huge 2 level steakhouse where the Video store used to be. That whole intersection is now restaurants.
I’m wondering what’s coming into the former Helio’s space right around the corner. The upper level became a great Yoga studio where you pay what you want.
this is sweet indeed! thats gonna be quite a corner there: taro sushi, flatbush farms (yum!!), and cubana cafe (cheap and tasty)!
Sweet! We live right around the corner and are fans of the well priced and always fresh sushi from Taro. This is a welcome move. I wish that the grocery/bodega that replaced the Ebay store sold beer, but that’s another gripe!
