Taqueria Coming to Fulton Street?
A tipster heard that a taqueria is coming to 922 Fulton Street, right between Washington and St. James Place. This isn’t all that far from the new coffee shop that opened at Franklin off of Fulton. Anyone heard more intel on this? GMAP

Putnamlandia is impossible to say. Unless you are saying it old school PutMANlandia…
I hear Putnamlandia is changing. The pedestrian plaza is scheduled to open at the Putnam triangle in September and the Green Hill Food Co-op is trying to open by the this year at 18 Putnam. If you want fresh vegetables and fruits, consider joining the food co-op . Supporting local businesses is the only way to spur change.
Adam, the owner of the taqueria, has dropped by our store for coffee a number of times, so we’ve gotten some of the updates first-hand. We’re pretty excited. He sounds like he’s got a good head on his shoulders and will really do a great job. I’m pretty sure it’ll open in early June (maybe the 1st week?). I don’t have a specific date, but early June is closer than you think!
And we vanderbilitians rarely venture down to Putnamlandia.
That’s great news. We really need some alternatives to the few “restaurants” that we have now. NOW, if only we could get a nice deli that also sells some fresh vegetables and fruit, I’d be really excited. I don’t count Choice as they’re pretty expensive for these items. I hope the Taqueria happens and happens soon! I rarely go as far as Franklin but walk the stretch of Fulton in question all the time. Bring it on…
Well it certainly isn’t a big deal, but it is a weird connection. I can’t think of anyone who would consider a commercial establishment on Fulton and St James and some coffee shop on Franklin (and what?) as being in the same area. It is actually (St James, Cambridge, Grand, Downing, Irving, Classon, Claver, Franklin) seven blocks away, and as someone pointed out a different subway stop. We are very provincial over here in Putnam Square.
“Isn’t all that far from…” ≠ “Is in the same neighborhood as…” or “Is less than 2.5 blocks from….” Therefore, Emily’s statement is accurate. Not a big deal.
Franklin has a different subway station!
Wonderful that it is coming, but I think that I will prefer hanging out and eating at the new taco place on Greene Avenue, which is owned by the the person who owns General Greene in Fort Greene. BS wrote about it a few weeks ago. Fulton doesn’t seem like a dining destination, just yet. One day…I hope.
