The Argyle condo’s sales center on 5th Avenue is no longer; according to the building’s website, there’s now a model apartment on site at the condo, which is on 7th Street and 4th Avenue. There are currently 12 active listings for the development. We wonder the extent to which the 5th Avenue digs helped sell units in the 4th Ave condo.

wait, that 5th ave building they were in was NOT the argyle?! when i’d walk by, i’d assume that THAT was the building, and thought “pass”. funny that even placing the office on 5th didnt help. knowing now its on 4th gets a double-pass. and to the previous poster, ‘gowanus’ is not hipster, its just a differentiation between parkslope and the next major neighborhood. gowanus is just like the ‘taint’.

i prefer to call it gowanus. i’d rather pay less for an apartment and have to cross 4th avenue to buy my artisanal cheeses.
and, frankly, when the prices come down, which they eventually will, i could see us living here for at least 10 or 15 years. i’m not a big DIY-er and they have some family sized apartments (3-beds) in a good school district. i haven’t seen the model, so i can’t speak to the quality of the finishes, but it all looks pretty nice if you like the modern thing, which i do.
for now, i’m content to sit and wait, though.
Heh. But I’d say this is closer to being in Park Slope than the Patriot Act is to being patriotic.
I love how all their promotional material calls it “The Argyle Park Slope” and there is a link on thier website called “life in Park Slope.” You can say it all you wany guys, but this place is 100% in Gowanus, not in Park Slope.
I put the value of these apartments at less than $500 psf.
Kind of like naming of the USA PATRIOT Act.
An unexceptional new condo development in Gowanus showed little or no flexibility in dropping their established-condo-in-center-slope prices.
Will they show flexibility on their rental prices when they go rental in 3-2-1….?
My wife and I were interested in the Argyle and visited the sales office on 2 occasions. Did not do a lot to get us “excited” about the project. Early discussion about pricing seemed to show little to no flexibility and kept prices at “pre bubble” levels. I still get updates from a yahoo chat forum: “They have 31 outstanding requirements and 11 outstanding objections from the inspection they had on 4/14. In addition their plumbing sign offs have been rejected. The only positive sign is that they finally have received their final approval on the elevator.”
Does not sound like a C of O is around the corner.
