Per a tipster comes word that a bar/restaurant called the People’s Republic of Brooklyn opened last Friday in the old Sapodilla space on Smith near the corner of Douglass. We haven’t heard details about the setup or menu yet, so if anyone’s already stopped in, we’re all ears. GMAP

  1. I’ve never made the time before to comment on a new Restaurant but PRB (the people’s republic of brooklyn) 247 Smith St was exactly what Smith St in Brooklyn needs….not only were the sliders deliciously comforting (on the first cold day of Fall) but the hot-toddies were to die for, emulating the warm nature of the restaurants’ atmosphere and namesake….not to mention the live DJ spinning track after track of gems!

P.s- Check it out the seafood po-boy sliders for sure!

  2. Walked by last Sunday around 2pm, height of the early games, and despite the sign advertising the NFL package, the one TV was not showing a football game. The place looks cute but the candles in votives on the tables and one TV doesn’t look like its going to be a sports bar.

  3. I walked last Sunday evening. I noticed they had a sign out front advertising that they had the NFL Package… and one TV. So, maybe they will be getting more TVs and it will be a sports bar?
