Streetlevel: New Coffee Place Opening on 7th Ave.
Any day now there will be one more place in the South Slope to get a cup of joe. A tipster sent in this photo of a new cafe about to open at 383 7th Avenue between 11th and 12th Streets. Anyone know if it has a name? GMAP

Rob is absolutely correct re: Ozzie’s “iced” coffee.
> “keep the iced coffee in a fridge so it’s already nice and cold.”
Amen.
> “iced coffee using ice cubes made of coffee”
Once again, AMEN! Love that idea.
red horse cafe (on 6th Ave @ 12th street) makes their iced coffee using frozen coffee cubes.
I actually think that building is for sale that houses Brookvin and the new place, correct?
Yes – Brookvin is a welcomed addition to the nabe for sure
“rob – avert your eyes! There might be people with MacBooks!”
Rob, also beware of stroller moms, gentrifiers, college grads, the elderly and people with money.
The problem with cafe 11 is that they didn’t really seem happy to have customers. I never ordered anything complicated when I went in there and they still seemed really put out by it. I am sorry they closed but am glad that their space was taken over by Brookvin, a really nice addition to the neighborhood. As for Cafe Grumpy, I hope they do well! It would be great if the open earlier than 7am. Would love somewhere to grab a cup of coffee while I am walking my dog! No place (aside from the 7-11) is open that early!

I never heard of that – genius! – frozen cubes – that’s a great idea and would keep your ice coffee tasting of coffee all the way through until the end
brilliant!
Rob – OH SO TRUE!
Oh and please leave room for milk
I know so many of you PS’ers are fancy pants coffee drinkers who mainly like their strong coffee black, I do not – I like my coffee with milk and sugar
gasp!
I heard Cafe Grumpy as well.
Rob, I’m totally with you. My favorite iced coffee in the world? This little place out in the North Fork that makes iced coffee using ice cubes made of coffee.
To take it a step further, I think they should also freeze milk and you could custom request your ice (half coffee cubes, half milk), but that may be taking it a bit too far.
