Mirrors-on-Grand-0308.jpg
The oddly-named Mirrors bar at 276 Grand Avenue in Clinton Hill has been about to open for a couple of years now. There have been enough head fakes during that time, so we should know better, but when we walked by this weekend, there was work going on and you could see liquor bottles lined up behind the bar. Any chatter in the neighborhood about this? GMAP

  1. I have been to Mirrors twice recently to see a funk band “LIG” play- They perform lots of R&B covers- lends a great ambience to the place- wish they would play the evenings! The band starts playing at 4PM…Seems the owners schedule “LIG” to play the last Saturday of every month. Bravo!
Food was offered this past saturday to recognize Mirrors’ 1 year anniversary- Having food regularly available at Mirrors would be great- even snacks is good…perhaps Mirrors management could work out an arrangement with Choice just doors away…

Also some outdoor seating -when weather improves -will help build a public presence – maybe enough to warrant increased police attention which in turn may dissuade the ‘stare down’ business men on grand and clifton, mentioned in post 11:42.

  2. I’ve been to Mirror’s on Grand several times. I think the ambience is nice. I like the exposed brick it gives the place character. The bartender is very nice, the drinks are good, and the crowd is eclectic. Overall I think that people always complain about things they don’t understand. Think about it, a mirror is reflective glass; maybe the bar is a “reflection” of the owner.
    Hmmm……food for thought huh?

  4. I walked in Mirrors the other night and spoke to the bartender, seems cool… I like the exposed brick, it feels cozy… looks like they are still doing some work, I appreciate that they seem to have a fully stocked bar… I will be stopping by to have a scotch on my way home from a hard day at work… but ur right no mirrors???

  5. 11:42 good comeback.

So will there be mirrors in Mirrors? Or just exposed brick (which makes my skin crawl, but that’s just a personal pet peeve)?

If anyone has any insight as to the decor, spill it!
