Streetlevel: iPhone Mania Not Just for Manhattanites
Today’s the day for the new iPhone 3G. Racked has already been monitoring the lines in Manhattan, but how about Brooklyn? This was the scene at around 8 a.m. at the AT&T store in Fulton Mall. Any other field reports from around the borough?

Says on Apple’s website that this thing has at most 16GB capacity. Surely this is a typo?
I’m a Linux user. I am only rarely cognizant of Apple’s existence.
Apple Lovers = Owners
Apple Haters = Renters
They create demand by redefining a crappy product, cellphone/portable music player/beige PC, into something that works intelligently and intuitively for the user and they deliver it well…
…except they are having major activation problems, the mobileme webapps are on and off again and crashing servers and they are frustrating their customers today. It will all be fine by next week(let’s hope) but people are childish and can not wait.

I agree that waiting in line is a little silly, but these phones are GREAT.
finally the US has 3g system compatible phones. Took a long time to catch up to Europe.
They create demand…by wrapping up everything in a pretty package and then–the touch of genius!–making the battery unreplacable!
Go Apple! Buy those new 3G phones, they’ll be useless in a year.
Walking to the train this morning, I was wondering what this line was, until I saw the AT&T line. The only line in Downtown BK in the AM is the one usually for foreigners looking to get legal papers.
I’m shocked that so many people need to get a friggin phone on the first day its issued.
Kudos to S. Jobs & Co for knowing how to create demand.
