We’ve been excited to see what would fill the 5th Avenue storefront where an artist set up an interactive project soliciting opinions about what sort of retail would be most welcome in the space. As it turns out, none of the wished-for shops (which included a bookstore, Indian restaurant and noodle shop) are gonna happen, because the space has been leased to Teddy, a women’s boutique that also opened a Cobble Hill location on Court Street about half a year ago. A good fit for Fifth? GMAP

  1. I am really glad that the nail shop, the rug store, and the realty office will move out. I own a building on 5th between 5th and 6th and those store fronts are a bit of an eyesore.

However, the biggest eyesore in the area is finally gone. That would be the B&G air conditioning and refrigeration buisness that is now GetFresh. They used to have the old used refrigerators lined up in front of the store front.

This is all great news. I just wonder how much they are paying for rent. The lease on my commercial space is almost up.
