Atlantic Avenue Shell Station: Re-Open or Re-Develop? [Brownstoner]
Thanks for the intelligence, tomgee and neilw! I’ll only be stopping there for gas!
I’m glad they re-opened this. I needed a place to fill up heading on/off the bridge.
“stop driving” is silly. like, stop using your electricity and water and eating since they all cause polluting activities.
I’d rather walk 10 blocks to the next gas station then be forced to use their full service station.
I think they could have at least squeezed in a few condos out back.
I also wish to say: Stop Driving!
(the roads are too crowded and I hate to be stuck in traffic jams)
I’ll second the “crooks”, but for a different reason: these guys seem to use the annual inspection as a ruse to get more work (surprise, surprise, I know). We used them two years in a row, and amazingly the struts went out in front one year, and in the back the next. When my wife picked up the car, she noticed a huge stack of receipts on the desk, almost all for struts.
these guys are MAJOR Crooks!!
I had started using them when AAA towed me there after I broke down. The first time I used them I got a laundry list of stuff they wanted to do. Very expensive. Another time when I was closing on a house I discovered I had an outstanding parking ticket that was unpaid for over a year. Turns out when my car was at this service station for repair, they left it on the street and it got a ticket. They never told me and must have thrown it out. Very shady place indeed….
Nice to have them open again. Still the most expensive gas around, but convenience always has a premium…
