The quirky vintage design store Astro-Turf at 290 Smith Street in Carroll Gardens has been closed for most of the past year and a half or so, after initially closing for some brick repair in early 2008. Now, reports Lost City, the “kitsch antique pavilion” has reopened. Kinda. Evidently the owner plans to open the store “occasionally” on the weekends. why do you people keep screaming EBAY? ebay blows. what if everyone decided to just sell their poopolas on ebay?! then there would be no real stores on the street and youd be whining about urban blight.

so what the hell do they sell?
I’ve passed by this place a couple of times and saw cool looking stuff inside. They weren’t open either time, alas.
As noted above: “One word: Ebay”
Thankfully Lost City doesn’t market the tours using “BoCoCa”, he says Carroll Gardens West. As a local born and bred here, I thank thee (though I still just use “South Brooklyn”)
