Work is now happening in earnest on the future home of Jane’s Carousel. This photo from today shows some vertical action at the site on the Dumbo waterfront. The antique carousel will be enclosed by a Jean Nouvel-designed glass structure, and it’s supposed to be good to go by the end of the summer. Update @ 1:30 p.m.: All four corner columns are up!

  1. When you add in the Prospect Park carousel, that makes three carousels within a subway ride. I guess it’s pretty much impossible to object to something so…nice. But is there some pent-up demand for carousels that I’m missing?

  2. oh goodie-goodie, just what we need, more “intelligent Manhattan types” coming to Brooklyn.

I was wondering why they have never been here before??? I guess it was because we didn’t have a carousel……………….
