South Slope Bicycle Habitat Opening on Sunday

Soho’s Bicycle Habitat, which has been in business since the late ’70s, is expanding outside of Manhattan for the first time with an outpost on 5th Avenue near the corner of 11th Street. The store is scheduled to open this Sunday, the 15th, which is when the Fifth Avenue Fair is taking place. Bicycle Habitat folks say the opening will be “soft,” as stuff like new signage gets added in the weeks following the opening. As you can see above, the space, which is deep for a 5th Avenue storefront, has been nicely renovated. Click through for a photo of the exterior, which is still papered up. GMAP
