Williamsburg-based Darin Bresnitz is an associate producer on the Food Network by day, and by night, he’s one half of twin-brother DJ duo Finger on the Pulse. On the weekends, he directs Dinner With the Band, a new internet TV show that combines his passions for food and music. On each episode, Chef Sam Mason (former wd-50 chef who is in the process of launching the much-blogged-about Tailor at 525 Broome Street) welcomes an indie band to his kitchen. They play a set and Sam makes dinner.

Last Saturday, we got a behind-the-scenes look at the Matt & Kim episode — which started around 9:30 am. Since they shot the performance first, it was the earliest rock show we’ve ever witnessed, but the odd timing didn’t stop the band or the chef from slugging a few beers during the show. We weren’t able to stay for the cooking segment, but Matt told us on our way out that he’d mentioned his and Kim’s love for olives — and Sam said he had just the dessert for them. Huh? Are we talkin’ olive pop tarts here?

Well, until this episode debuts online, you can check out the promo for the new series here, and see more photos from the shoot after the jump.
