Shelsky’s of Brooklyn is moving its bagel and smoked fish shop from Smith Street to the old Mexicali location at 141 Court Street. They already have signage up in the window and have posted “now hiring” signs advertising for counter help. When we spoke to owner Peter Shelsky, he said he hopes to be open by Friday. He added that they’re relocating because the Court Street storefront has much better foot traffic and is more than twice as large as the space at 251 Smith Street.
