quotation-icon.jpgW’burg – I don’t understand the attraction to that place. I went to the area for the first time in many years. Although the commercial area (Bedford) was full of lively buisnesses and young people walking around…it only stretched for a short distance. Past those few streets Bedford was dead. Venture away from Bedford and the area is industrial and cold. The dinner that my guests and I had was very good. However, they all agreed that Park Slope was a better place to visit.

  1. Pitbull – i live off the lorimer L stop, work on spring and crosby and my commute is the same, if not shorter some days than yours. so your arguement about park slope having a superior commute is moot.

  2. Manhattan Bridge Loop:
A brilliant painting. Other parts of the city that still have that Hopper moodiness are Long Island City (Hopper painted the 59th street bridge as well), Bushwick north of Flushing Avenue and believe it or not Woodhaven which still has Victorian houses and an eerily quiet feel in the summer.
By the way, if you want to step into an Edward Hopper painting for real, take a weekend trip to Block Island, a ferry from Montauk leaves daily. Just beautiful. Go in the fall for solitude.
