As the world continues to mourn the loss of global pop icon Prince, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams is inviting Brooklynites to celebrate the star’s life at a Fort Greene Park dance party.

Organized in partnership with Council Member Laurie A. Cumbo, NYC Parks and the Fort Greene Conservancy, the salute begins at 5 p.m., with DJs playing three hours of the legend’s music, followed by an 8 p.m. screening of Prince’s 1984 cult classic film Purple Rain.

For those who can’t make it Friday, Brooklyn Bridge Park will be screening Purple Rain on July 21 as part of its summertime Movies With a View program.

If it’s anything like the 2009 Purple Rain sing-along in Prospect Park, it’s sure to be a good time.
