Uh, I dont know about that Drew…I live in FG and see my fair share of crack heads roaming Myrtle quite frequently. I dont know if that is classified as “too many” in your book or not. And I’m Black…its not a “white” thing to want a now affluent neighborhood to rid itself of some drug and poverty issues. And where do I want low income people to move- to low income areas! I cant just go live in the once arsty-cheap neighborhood of Soho, now quite posh, on the basis that it “used” to be a poor area. Every neighborhood today aint for everyone. C’mon. You a socialist or something? 🙂
These comments are all pretty stupid, but the last one really typifies what’s gone wrong with Fort Greene and Clinton Hill. Upper middle class white folks buy up a neighborhood in once underclass Brooklyn and expect it to become the suburb they would clearly be more comfortable in. Relocating drug addiction and poverty doesn’t solve those problems. Where do you want low income people to move, back to the suburb you grew up in? And by the way, there really aren’t too many drug addicts roaming Myrtle Ave in Fort Greene. Just because they’re black doesn’t mean they will hurt you.
they arent doing not for profit work klhfffdjfhdjfhl or whatever the hell you call yourself. So its either city workers in the nude on the street or crack addicts. Love your logic stupid ass.
i live on myrtle, just curious how much they sell crack these days? No one has offered me any since I’ve been there (3 years.) Maybe cause I’m white?

So once a poor hood, always a poor hood?
You could not have said it better, Drew!
