I hate social networking but I finally went on FB for business reasons. And I have to admit to loving texting and email because finally my hearing is not an issue. But people do still come together to rally- and sometimes FB is the agent. To wit- events today in Egypt, and last week in Tunisia.

Me too. I don’t have the excuses of facebook or lots of texting to make up for it though (& always hated it even before those came along). I’m just anti-social.
I think a lot has been written about Paul Lynde as a transitional figure in terms of the eventual acceptance of gays and gay style and sensibility on television. I am sure tons of folks loved him on Hollywood Squares, Bewitched, etc. who had no clue.
Facebook and Twitter are necessary evils now for lots of small retail biz just starting up
