the epitomy of what a smokin artist workspace COULD be once fixed up…….the loading dock, especially, would assist my dodge in exiting many monster canvi’ from the building
The ugliest part of that building IS the paint job. Take a closer look – it has some very nice brickwork, most of which is intact, and the most of the openings are original. Judicious paint stripping and pointing would result in a pretty handsome building. Remove the infill from the blind arches, and you have an even nicer (and more functional) building.

I know what you mean….especially when they paint the entire building monochromatically.
It’s so ugly it’s beautiful. Sort of like the meatpacking district before it got trendy in the late 1990’s.
