The Ground Floor Art Gallery is opening in Park Slope on April 6, with an opening exhibition on display from 6 pm to 10 pm. The debut exhibition, called “Next Generation,” is a group exhibit featuring the artists June Glasson, Preston Trombly and Evan Venegas. It was curated by Park Slope artist Lori Nelson. The gallery plans to feature work by emerging artists and also host a different artist-in-residence every month. That artist will be highlighted in a solo exhibition in exchange for manning the gallery one day a week. These monthly solo exhibitions will also be accompanied by group exhibitions, artist advising seminars, and various contemporary art events. The exact location is 343 5th Street, right off 5th Avenue. You can keep up with Ground Floor at its Facebook account.
