From today’s Times Real Estate Section, “West Village: Do-It Yourself Town-House Renovating in Manhattan”:
“Carless, the couple made their way to the remote Brooklyn area where the seller lived, then gingerly carted the [light] fixture home on the subway.”
ROFL. I love Manhattan-centric people. To them, “remote Brooklyn” is prolly Brooklyn Heights! Article makes it sound like they went to the remote jungles of Brooklyn, where Brooklynites are an undiscovered native tribe.
benson, I was using the Google to find a list of traditional housewarming gifts (bread, wine, salt, dog biscuits) and their symbolism, and one of the first sites I stumbled on was Italiansrus.com!
DIBS, no we’ve never had the pleasure of meeting. I tend just to lurk on this site during down time (or outright work avoidance) and post only when I think I either have something material to add to a conversation, or a one-liner that amuses me. With an 18-month-old, I don’t socialize IRL anywhere anymore, though tonight is the wife’s and my fortnightly date night, whoo-hoo.
