“I once had a rose named after me and I was very flattered. But I was not pleased to read the description in the catalogue: no good in a bed, but fine up against a wall.” — Eleanor Roosevelt
Kansas City has a nuclear weapons facility, Lech. A bomb manufacturing plant and used to have nuclear weapons storage there. Maybe it had something to do with that — a little stray radiation…. woooo woooo
BTW, my old bf once decided that I might like to see a particular movie once. OK, I’m game what is it? A surprise. He had a copy of “The day after” when Kansas City was ground zero for the day after a nuclear attack.
It came out on ABC in 1983 (saw it not too long ago) and was awful beyond words. Also, worse because I was pointing out the sights in KC before the plot became clear. “Look, Nelson Atkins….what a great museum….”
Doesn’t that sound like a great movie? It was the worst thing I ever saw. Very traumatizing. It was supposed to teach Americans what nuclear war really is….
lech – Win points w/ your m-i-l. Put your cell phone in the microwave. Don’t turn on the microwave but try to phone your cell. If it rings there’s a leak. Definitely not a good thing. Wi-fi & zappers are on similar frequencies. Leakage can cause cataracts.
I’m re-posting that quote later this week. We’ll see if the other losers find it funny without my having to point out to them that it is hilarious. I’m so disappointed in you people. : (
CH – Where on earth did you unearth that quote?!?
Arkady will get the double entendre…

lech – I forgot to say you should shut the zapper door but assume you figured that out. It really is not a good thing that it leaks.

Thanks Arkady (you really are a fountain of useful knowledge you know). It rang. In laws warned.

I’m actually a little worried about standing near a microwave that shuts down the wi-fi when it’s running.

I literally almost asked her to turn the microwave off for 30 second or so…. but can you imagine having to explain why?
“ummmm….. you want to do what? You’re winning a thousand dollars or something?”
