Aw, Dave, I’m still reeling from you calling Florence “cheesy”. It may be overrun with tourists, but it’s still one of the most gorgeous old cities in the world. And you can walk the entire city in a couple of days, and see something new each time. Dare I say it, it’s like being in a very large ART AND ARCHITECTURE MUSEUM!
Snappy, you got the hair thing right. Biff, you don’t ever want to go there, ever. I understand where the black hair people are coming from, from straightened hair, to people wanting to touch my fro in the 70’s to braids and weaves. Hair is a Big Deal.
“I decided to bail out on the closing and threaten to sue to recover my 10% deposit (there were some misrepresentations regarding square footage), but the Developer didn’t give a crap. Then, about a month after my “default”, the Developer decided to negotiate with me. After a few months of haggling they reluctantly dropped the price by 13%. However, I had drawn a “line in the sand” at 15% reduction. Neither side would budge. Facing this impasse, the Sponsor simply refunded my entire deposit. I have to presume they just wanted me out of their hair, so they could sell the unit to someone else. As far as I can tell, it is still on the market, asking a mere $25k more than my “line in the sand” price. ”
Get on your knees and thank GOD! You was very lucky!
“During this ordeal, I learned a lot about the risks of new construction, about mortgage contingencies, and about the real estate market in general. I can’t believe how ignorant I was a year ago. Today, I have decided to remain a renter for the time being. In fact, my wife and I have decided to rent a place up in Nyack, NY – a little town that, one could argue, is a bit like Brooklyn in terms of it’s historic buildings, walkability, and eclectic and diverse population — but it’s a longer commute to midtown (about the same as Bed-Stuy really), and obviously a hell of a lot smaller.”
Make sure you are near the Train Station! The car commute can be a little rocky!
youre right. back when i was 20 i was into museums and art and stuff like that. i grew out of that phase. lol. i like to tell myself im keeping it much realer these days.
Hey MM. DIBS was being sarcastic, as was I with respect to my Taj Mahal comment.
BRG, that video was hilarious! The woman is stunning too.
Congratulations Paul, you’ve just been “WHATed”

mopar…need to chat with someone about an idea for something similar to a glossy “coffee table” book. I thought ENY was in public relations???
Dave, East New York and I are both in publishing. Why do you ask?
Paul C., best wishes in Nyack. I like that town. How much are rents up there? Cost of train is very high though.
