no food change – diet has to remain exactly the same. But we have to inject her with insulin and monitor her blood sugar levels. Needless to say, Cats really don’t enjoy being poked and prodded with needles – especially 20 pound cats.
snappy- – they don’t drink it but the smell seems to get them drunk like it was catnip. Very funny to watch.
DH- had a diabetic cat for years. It’s really easy to deal with once you get used to giving them the shot. Even that’s no biggie- cat’s skin seems to be somewhat insensitive- they hardly notice you giving them the shot (if you have to treat your cat this way). Just monitor him- my cat lived for over 10 years with diabetes and died at 18. Good luck with him.
I tried to give my cat some of that malt gel stuff for hairballs, but she refuses to eat it. I pull out vaseline for my lips at night and she goes nuts begging for some. I guess she just hates malt flavoring. But, you are right, she doesn’t have hairballs. She only yacks when she eats her wet food treats too fast.

My little Pia is not a gay male cat! She’s a fine young lady! Annoying at times, but still a fine young lady. Harumph!
Yes, Brits are just “brit bags.”
Sorry about your cat DH. Do you have to change her food?
clorox is poison
OMG! Bxgirl, your cats drink clorox? Yikes!

Um, that sentence didn’t come out right, Dave. It should have read:
YOU concluded that only “continentals” were considered Eurotrash. I agreed that some do indeed see it that way.
Thank you Snappy, my lady-loving friend!
BRG: HA! Rodney is the greatest!!
actually – my cat was just diagnosed with diabetes – anyone have experiences with this? 🙁
