What’s the takeaway from this thread?
vinca is complaining about a beatdown (as first raised by Mr. B in the infamous “Commenting Thread”) on Park Slope parents in the Wednesday Links Thread. Am I missing something? Was that a beatdown or is he/she overly sensitive? I even added a comment before that about how dysfunctional we all are – but at least we can admit to that.
TownhouseLady, I wanted to hug them all too. Am hoping maybe that scene was heavily edited to show us only her egregious comments — because, seriously, if I had met that woman as a teen and she’d said that crap to me I’d be scarred for life.

Bxgrl- On the flip side I know of guys in two different FDNY houses that say they all get together to watch it religiously. They love the grittiness and say it’s brought more understanding as to how tough the job actually is.
They love Denis Leary who is a giant supporter for firefighters. He comes from a firefighting family. He tirelessly raises funds for firefighters through his charity work. He started the Leary Firefighters Foundation that has distributed over 2.5MM in Boston and separately over 2MM to The Fund for NY Bravest.
No disrespect to your friends but I thought I should speak up for my guys.
